BUCHAREST, Romania — September 26, 2026 — Zhiguang Electric made its debut in Romania this week, showcasing its latest power electronics and energy storage technologies at the ROMAERO Exhibition Center in Bucharest from September 24 to 26. The company presented its solutions at Booth 8B in Hall 2, including the overseas debut of its Solid-State Transformer (SST COOTA) and Large-Capacity Integrated AC/DC ESS.
Led by Ji Hui, General Manager of Zhiguang Electric's International Business Division, the company's international team met with representatives from European energy groups, renewable energy developers, EPC contractors and technology consultancies. Discussions centered on evolving energy storage requirements, potential project cooperation and opportunities for localized development, providing a platform for Zhiguang Electric to strengthen its understanding of the European market and build new partnerships.

Responding to Romania's Evolving Energy Landscape
Romania is entering an important phase in the transformation of its energy mix and power infrastructure. The rapid growth of solar and wind generation is increasing the need to address the mismatch between generation and electricity demand, while energy storage, grid flexibility and renewable energy integration are becoming increasingly important to the market. In March 2026, the European Commission approved a €150 million electricity storage support scheme for Romania, with the program expected to support the development of at least 2,174 MWh of new energy storage capacity. Against this backdrop, Zhiguang Electric showcased a portfolio of technologies designed to support the changing needs of Europe's energy market.
SST COOTA Makes Its Overseas Exhibition Debut
Among the key highlights was SST COOTA, making its first appearance at an overseas exhibition. SST COOTA uses a direct 10 kV AC-to-800 V DC conversion architecture, eliminating conventional transformers and multiple stages of power distribution. The system delivers efficiency of up to 98.5%, representing an improvement of more than 4 percentage points over conventional solutions. With modular configurations from 1 MW to 4.2 MW, SST COOTA can reduce the required footprint by more than 60%. A 4.2 MW unit can also reduce carbon emissions by approximately 1,100 tons per year. Built on a fully digital architecture, SST COOTA provides rapid response and supports bidirectional power flow. These capabilities are designed to enhance renewable energy integration, provide grid support and facilitate coordinated operation across generation, the grid, loads and energy storage.

Large Capacity Integrated AC/DC ESS Simplifies Project Deployment
Zhiguang Electric also presented its Large-Capacity Integrated AC/DC ESS for the first time overseas. The system adopts a “one cluster, one management” architecture and an external all-AC connection design, with the DC side fully integrated within the equipment enclosure. Factory-level pre-integration further streamlines on-site installation and commissioning, helping simplify project execution and shorten delivery timelines.
For the European commercial and industrial energy storage market, Zhiguang Electric also showcased its fully liquid-cooled C&I cabinet energy storage systems, including the ZGE-CI-Z-100-233 and ZGE-CI-Z-125-261 models. Designed to combine reliability with cost efficiency, the systems are suited to a range of commercial and industrial applications.

Deepening Zhiguang Electric's Engagement with Europe
Zhiguang Electric's booth drew strong interest from industry professionals throughout the exhibition. Backed by its technical expertise and BloombergNEF Tier 1 recognition as a global energy storage manufacturer, the company's international team held discussions with visitors on energy storage project deployment, grid flexibility and opportunities for localized cooperation.

Zhiguang Electric's debut in Romania represents a further step in its engagement with the European market. Through its portfolio of power electronics and energy storage technologies, the company is exploring opportunities to work with local customers and partners as Europe continues to advance its energy transition and strengthen the flexibility and resilience of its power systems.
